Introduction:

      The Maryam Ajmal Women’s College of Science and Technology is blossoming forth as the finest flower in the garden of the AJMAL Foundation. It has come to symbolize the unwavering commitment of the AJMALs’ towards social reconstruction through modern science education of a superior quality on the one hand and their deep love and gratitude to their beloved MOTHER, late Maryam-un-nisa Ajmal, whose memory they wish to perpetuate by empowering women to be participants in the rapidly changing scenario of scientific and technological revolution sweeping the world today on the other. Driven by the zeal to transform their native place Hojai from a backward, non-descript town to a vibrant and flourishing center of commercial, educational and cultural activities, the AJMALs’ cherished desire to set up a science college of a very high standard exclusively for women is, no doubt, an affirmation of the AJMALs’ social commitment and strategy.

The Maryam Ajmal Women’s College of Science and Technology endeavours to provide a conducive environment to identify the potential of the adolescent girls, hone their talents, stimulate their imagination and open the doors of the mind to the immense possibilities of creativity and to guide them on the voyage to probe, explore and discover the vast horizon of knowledge and technology.

The College:

Maryam Ajmal Women’s College of Science and Technology was established in the year 2006 and housed in a four storied building adjacent to the HAMM Hospital and Research Centre. In due course, the permanent building of the college will be ready on a sprawling campus on the Jugijan Road, Barpukhuri, near Hojai, with adequate infrastructure, play ground, hostel, canteen, auditorium, state of the art computer lab and sophisticated practical facilities.

Status:

At present, The College is a junior (+2) college for girls imparting teaching of science subjects only. At a later stage, degree and vocational courses including Information Technology (IT), Bio Technology, Management & Mass Communication etc. will be introduced phase wise.

The Management:

The Maryam Ajmal Women’s College of Science and Technology is run and managed by the Ajmal Foundation. The Foundation’s main objective is to impart education that will ensure the all round development of the students. The excellent infrastructure, including labs and library, right in the heart of the city provides the students with the right ambience to pursue their career goals successfully. The highly qualified, trained, experienced & dedicated lecturers ensure that students do not need to run around for additional tuition. A lot of stress is laid on discipline and hard work so as to prepare the students to excel in the competitive exams. There is an Advisory Board constituted of eminent educationists and approved by the Ajmal Foundation, to suggest ways and means for the smooth running of the college.
