The spectre of poverty ,
illiteracy and social in-equality
haunts our present day society like an incubus , driving to frenzied panic
every sensitive and thinking soul. The vision of a happy humanity will
remain ever elusive and the true meaning and goal of our democracy will
remain a far cry unless a determined and concerted effort is made to banish
the scourge of poverty and illiteracy
from our society. The Ajmal Foundation
is a modest attempt in the direction of empowering the lowly and the
subaltern to achieve a degree of respectability and competence so that a new
era of social progress is inaugurated.

Message
Social Inequality
engenders all the evils that stymie development. Poverty, Violence, and
misery are its various ramifications. The AJMAL FOUNDATION is the beginning
of a small step towards creating awareness about the gripping inequalities,
which have plagued our society for so long. The endeavor of the Foundation
at social empowerment of the unprivileged by exemplary activities in the
field of education, environment, public health, and orphanage, care of the
old and destitute and many more areas will have its rewards in the long run.
Social change is a long and arduous process, but its fruits are the
sweetest. I am quite sanguine that the AJMAL FOUNDATION will succeed in its
mission. |

An Appeal
The
will to happiness is universal but in most cases it remains a far cry
because of the domination of the vested classes to serve their own interests
at the cost of the deprived, the marginalized,
the destitute and poor. Real social progress will remain a mirage if a large
segment of our population remains uneducated, poor and sick. It is here that
people and organizations with a zeal for public good, play the most pivotal
role at social transformation. The AJMAL FOUNDATION is one such Trust which
is guided by the spirit of social welfare and passion for removing social
disparity by undertaking activities in areas like education, health care,
poverty alleviation, and self-employment schemes. Let me humbly appeal

Glance At AJMAL’s Business & Humanitarian Activities
The ‘AJMAL’ has now become a new name to reckon with in the
exotic world of perfumery. With a humble beginning made in the early years of
the last century, Haji Ajmal Ali explored the resources
in and around Hojai; a sleepy neighborhood in the verdant foothills of
Assam’s Nagaon District and slowly made his mark in the business of
perfumery. Today his dream has taken concrete and wonderful shape with
offices established in Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi and Hojai . By virtue of
honesty, integrity, good ethics, fair business practice and uncompromising
faith on business values, the Ajmal Group marches on to new horizons.
The Ajmal Group
of Companies is
an organization with a humane perspective and has undertaken numerous projects for the upliftment of life in and around Hojai
region of Assam. This area is
populated largely by tribals and other ethnic communities living in
depressing conditions due to poverty and negligence. This unhealthy
situation is aggravated by natural disasters like flood, epidemics and
diseases. The lack of Medical facilities is a major obstacle. Ajmal Group
has set up the Haji Abdul Majid Memorial Public Trust to provide
humanitarian services by giving free medical treatment to the poor and also
to initiate educational programs to encourage people to be self-reliant, to
cultivate hygienic rules and to acquire skills for basic health and economic
conditions. Haji Abdul Majid Memorial Hospital and Research Centre, was
inaugurated in 1995 by late Reverend Mother Teresa, the Nobel laureate. When
the dream will be fulfilled, it will be a 350 bedded hospital with a Medical
College.
